Greg’s parents met at the silver spur bar in Helena, MT in 1972. Greg’s father is a drummer. Greg always wanted to play drums so badly! When I was a youngster, he bought me a guitar at a garage sale. Then, he said if I learned to play it, he would buy me a drum set because I wasn’t allowed to touch his set. I did learn to play drums. I used to trace the shadows of his cymbals on cardboard so that I could replace everything the way it was, and he could tell just by sitting down to play if I had been messing with them. During Greg’s time in-utero, Greg’s mother would attend Greg’s father’s performances, and she tells me that I would kick in time to the music. Greg was born in Helena MT in 1974. His dad in the air force was stationed in Cheyenne Wyoming so Greg’s family lived there lived there from 1975 to 1979. His sister Kristie was born in Cheyenne in 1975. Greg was raised in Helena MT from 1979 until 1990.
